Daily living supports under the NDIS cover a broad range of activities and are split into two main categories: Core Supports and Capacity Building Supports.
Core Personal Services supports enable participants to live independently in the comfort of their own homes with support for daily activities to complete daily life tasks and achieve their goals. Sensible Care is a registered provider under the NDIS for:
- Assistance with daily personal activities;
- Assistance with daily life tasks in group or shared living; and
Assistance with daily personal activities and life tasks include services such as assistance with bathing or showering, personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, meal preparation and moving around your house.
Sensible Care has a highly trained, friendly and reliable care personnel who provide these support services professionally and discretely. The assistance can be provided in a variety of settings including the participant’s home or different environments such as in a shared living environment.
Capacity Building Supports enable a participant to build their independence and skills. Sensible Care is a registered provider for:
- Development of daily care and life skills.
Sensible Care can assist the participants with the development of daily care and life and help them to develop skills and confidence to live more independently. Individual life skills development and training include but not limited to topics like:
- Financial budgeting skills
- Paying bills
- Administrative tasks
- Household tasks mentoring such as
- General cleaning and tidying
- Laundry
- Emptying bin
- Using public transport and travel planning
- Social and effective communication skills
- and many more.
Because the participants’ families are often an integral part of the care, we work with members of the participants’ families to help support them as the participants increase their ability to manage these tasks independently.
