No, you are not locked into a contract. We are a flexible service that offers as much as or as little care as you like, on any days and at any time that you choose. We do ask you to sign an agreement which describes how we will deliver your service. This is legally required by The Aged Care Act. You may cancel your agreement at any time without any penalty.
It is important that you like your carers and establish a friendly rapport with them. We will usually send you your preferred carers, but sometimes your carers may not be available due to sickness or their leave arrangements. In this case, we will only make a substitution if you agree to it.
That depends upon your care plan and your requirements. If your preferred carer is available at the time you require them, then of course this will be arranged.
Given sufficient notice, it can be scheduled for your preferred carer to be available. If this is not possible, another qualified carer will be arranged to assist you, as long as you approve them.
Each individual case is unique. During your free care assessment and consultation, your Care Manager will develop an individualised Care Plan with you and provide you with a Budget for required services.
Yes, each care visit will be a minimum of one hour.
No, your standard service charges already include any necessary travel costs. However, services that require the carer to travel (with or without you) such as shopping will attract additional travel charges.
One of our Care Managers (who are usually a Registered Nurse) will:
- Discuss your individual care needs
- Learn your health and lifestyle goals
- Undertake a home safety risk assessment
- Provide advice the services that will have you to keep living independently
- In collaboration with you prepare a personal care plan that our carers will follow each visit
In an emergency, we are likely to be able to provide care the same day that you enquire. A care manager (Registered Nurse) will be required to attend as they need to complete an assessment and care plan for your health and safety. The nurse will then immediately provide care as required.
You can spend your funding in three areas:
- Care (i.e. personal care, meal preparation, equipment)
- Support (i.e. gardening, transport, social outings)
- Clinical services (i.e. nursing and allied health)
The Home Care funding cannot be used as a general source of income such as buying food, paying for medicines, rent or utilities.
We’ll work with you to change your support plan or, if you need a higher level of care, assist you to have a reassessment with the Commonwealth Government’s My Aged Care.
Yes. You can pay privately for any services, to top up your allocated Government funding.
