How do I get started?

Getting started with Sensible Care is simple — and we’re here to help every step of the way.

  1. Contact us: Give us a call or send us an email. We’ll have a friendly chat to understand your needs and answer any questions.
  2. Free consultation: We’ll explain your options clearly, including government funding like Support at Home program or the NDIS — depending on your situation.
  3. We do the paperwork: If you decide to go ahead, we’ll guide you through the setup or switching process and handle the paperwork for you.
New to In-Home Care?

If you’re new to in-home care, don’t worry — we’re here to make it easy.



In-home care means getting the support you need while staying in your own home. This can include help with:

  • Cleaning, cooking, and daily tasks
  • Showering, dressing, and personal care
  • Nursing care at home
  • Transport to appointments
  • Social visits and companionship
  • Physiotherapy to help with strength, balance, and recovery
  • Podiatry to help care for your feet and keep you mobile
  • NDIS services if you are living with a disability — we support both self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants

We’ll take the time to understand what matters to you, and match you with the right supports.



We can also help you apply for government-funded care, like Support at Home or the NDIS, depending on your needs.

How does the new Support at Home program work?

The Support at Home program launched on 1 November 2025, replacing the former Home Care Packages program. It’s designed to help older Australians stay independent and live safely at home for longer.

This program replaced the former Home Care Packages and Short-Term Restorative Care programs on 1 November 2025.

Key points:

  • You’ll get a personalised care plan based on your needs.
  • The government will provide a care budget every 3 months, which you can use for support services.
  • Services can include help with showering, cleaning, cooking, nursing, transport, and more.
  • There’s also extra funding for equipment like shower chairs or grab rails, and home changes like ramps or rails.
  • You’ll have support from a care manager to help organise everything.

Were you previously on a Home Care Package?

Don’t worry — you won’t lose your services. You’ll move across to the new system automatically.

Can I change my provider to Sensible Care?

Yes, you can.

If you’re not happy with your current provider or just want a fresh start, you have the right to change at any time.

At Sensible Care, we make the switch simple and stress-free. We’ll guide you through the process, help with paperwork, and make sure your services continue without interruption.
